Our creative process will follow the same sequence as walking a labyrinth: We will shed what does not serve us\, find our way to center\, and then emerge with a new idea\, impulse\, or understanding—as well as a written artifact from our journey. The Buddhist metta prayer we recite together at SSC each Sunday will serve as the textual catalyst for writing. Bring your pen\, your notebook\, and your beautiful heart. \nPlease arrive promptly at 7pm.\nLove offering graciously accepted. \n \nJill Lahnstein—seeker\, writer\, and teacher—has spent most of her life exploring the power of the written word. After receiving her BA in English and her MA in composition and rhetoric\, she devoted thirty years to teaching writing and literature at the college level. Each semester in the classroom only made more clear to her the potential of writing to transform the rhetoric of pain into something more gentle and useful. She applies that philosophy in her work as a transpersonal hypnotherapy practitioner and in her ongoing writing series Real Body Chronicles on Substack.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that Spiritual Soul Center will have its very own community cookbook! The SSC cookbook committee is working to create a beautiful and unique cookbook\, and we need your help! \nWe want the cookbook to reflect our amazing\, soulful\, spiritual\, unique\, and diverse congregation\, so send us your tried-and-true family favorites in the following categories: appetizers\, soup and salad\, bread\, sides\, entrees and desserts. \nWe want to appeal to a variety of eating styles as well\, so vegan\, vegetarian\, gluten-free\, and dietary specific recipes are welcome! \nAn information table will be set up for five Sundays beginning January 4th.  Renee\, Brooke\, and Jill will be there to show you how to access the site and enter your recipes. \nAll recipes must be entered no later than February 1st. \nStay tuned for the total cost (which is dependent on the number of submissions) and the date for pre-orders.
