SUMMARY:Rise Against Hunger Packing Party
DESCRIPTION:We’ll join our friends at St. James to pack meals to ship worldwide to those experiencing hunger and food insecurity. \nOver the course of two shifts\, we will prepare the packages which Rise Against Hunger will then distribute near and far. St. James will provide all of the supplies needed. Volunteers will need to sit or stand in one location for two hours and/or be able to lift up to ten pounds. \nShifts will begin at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. You are welcome to join for one or both shifts. You can also volunteer on the clean up team 12:30-1:00pm. \nTo register click here. DESCRIPTION:The packing continues! Last year we helped pack over 15\,000 meals in one morning. Let’s join our friend at St. James and do it again! Over the course of two shifts we will prepare packages of food which will be distributed near and far. All supplies will be provided. Volunteers will stand or sit and perform various tasks to get the right amount measured\, packed into individual bags and then boxed and moved to the truck outside. All are welcome to participate\, including children. Child care is provided for the very young. \nThis event is held at Perry Hall\, St. James Parish\, 25 South 3rd Street\, Wilmington. SUMMARY:Rise Against Hunger Packing Party
DESCRIPTION:Spiritual Soul Center will join efforts with St. James Parish to pack 20\,000 meals to send overseas in a continuing effort to eradicate world hunger by 2025. \nWe will meet at 10 o’clock in the Great Hall entrance on Market St. between 3rd and 4th.  Parking is either on the street or in the First Citizens Bank lot across Market from the church. \nPlease consider bringing a canned food donation to replenish the pantries of local charities.  You can also donate your spare change for “Change for Change” which supports future Rise Against Hunger projects.  Plans are to take a break after 10\,000 meals have been packed\, have a taste of the packed meals and mingle with the hosting congregation. \nThis is a family event.  Children are welcome. There will be sitting positions as well as standing ones to accommodate everyone’s needs. \nA signup sheet will be circulated at SSC as well as online at bit.ly/sjprise. \n
