DESCRIPTION:SSC is teaming up with St Jude’s Food food pantry to provide a Thanksgiving meal for our brothers and sisters in Wilmington who might not otherwise have a feast to share! Here is the shopping list: \nFresh whole chicken or small ham\nFresh potatoes – white and/or sweet\nFresh vegetable – broccoli\, green beans\, collard greens\, carrots\, kale\, etc or any combination\nFresh whole onion\nFresh fruit – apples\, oranges\, bananas\nCanned cranberry sauce\nStovetop Stuffing\nButter\nCooking oil\nEggs \nYou might notice a theme above…FRESH is the word…except for a few items. It will be a great surprise because they rarely get fresh food. And almost never do they get butter and cooking oil. Their clients do get plenty of desserts\, plus many are diabetic and cannot eat sweets. So\, we’ll skip desserts this year. \nArrive at St. Jude’s\, 19 N 26th Street (near the corner of Market and 26th) at 8am on Tuesday\, November 23rd. Due to the number of items that need refrigeration we cannot collect your donations ahead of time. If you are unable to get there on Tuesday morning\, call a friend to coordinate your delivery. We are a small but mighty community! \nMany\, many thanks for your generosity. YOU make a difference!

DESCRIPTION:We will be joining the worldwide Unity community to celebrate World Day of Prayer\, Wednesday\, September 8th at St. Jude’s MCC. The theme is: All Is Well With My Soul. Our Spiritual Soul Center team will present a short message\, reading or music on the half hour starting at 2pm\, followed by time in silent prayer and meditation. At 5:30pm we will pause to prepare for our closing presented by Rev John McLaughlin. He will offer a contemplative Centering Prayer and Meditation from 6-6:45pm. \nPlease join us any time between 2pm and 5:30pm. Then come back for Rev John’s closing at 6pm. Or…stay all day. Each meal will include: \nFresh whole chicken (uncooked) or small ham\nFresh potatoes – white and/or sweet\nFresh vegetable – broccoli\, green beans\, collard greens\, carrots or any combination\nCranberry sauce and/or apple sauce\nLoaf bread\nDessert – must be boxed from grocery store. No homemade items please. \nBring a single grocery bag (paper) with all items in one bag. \nArrive at St. Jude’s\, 19 N 26th Street (near the corner of Market and 26th) at 8am on Tuesday\, November 24th. \nIf you are unable to get your meal to St. Jude’s at this time\, please contact Fran Lucas (jlucas8@ec.rr.com) and she will help arrange for earlier drop off with one of our SSC volunteers. \nPlease sign up by sending an email to info@spiritualsoulcenter.org so that we can let them know how many meals to anticipate.
