Balance…we want more balance in our life. We usually say this when we feel overwhelmed. We’re too busy, stretched thin, tired and unhappy. Feeling lost we sigh…I want some balance in my life!

Balance is defined as the state of equilibrium. Is this what we’re looking for…the perfect point of existence where everything is perfectly represented? We have the right and perfect amount of time for work, study and play…the perfect income, coming in at a perfect rate…enough time to get a good night’s sleep and enjoy time with our children, family and friends…time for vacation, time alone, time for our favorite hobby. Not too much of this or too little of that. No wonder we feel exhausted. Who can keep up with this balancing act!

Here is another definition for balance: emotional stability or calmness of mind. Ah, well, now that is something we can work with! This is a balance we have complete control over. It’s not about the ‘stuff’ happening or not happening, it’s about our approach and how we carry ourselves.

When we learn to bring a balanced mind and heart to life…we find the joy and satisfaction we are looking for. That’s really what we’re looking for…more joy and a sense of ease. We just think balancing our outer life will get us there. Well, maybe, eventually, but we don’t have to wait.

We can practice bringing a calm mind and heart into all areas of life right now. Stop and be grateful. How about that? Pause and be thankful for even the smallest thing. There is nothing like the practice of gratefulness to calm your mind and ease your heart.

Want balance? Be grateful.
Much love always
