Grow, serve, transform…together.

Message by guest speaker Deb Bowen…Meditation…and special music Laura McLean.

From folk/Americana to bluesrock to wak beats to guitar guru, Laura McLean made a name for herself on the chitlin circuit and beyond. She’s played the famed CBGBs, The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, and the Orange Bear NYC, Rusty’s Surf Ranch on the Santa Monica Pier, Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, and Gabby n Mo’s in Austin TX. The list is old and long. She has also produced more hiphop CDs for aspiring NC youth than anyone and is probably the Guinness record-holder for number of birthday raps rendered! She gives out guitars like Johnny Appleseed gave apples.

Deb, a former grief counselor and retired faculty from UNCW’s School of Social Work, is author of A Good Friend for Bad Times: Helping Others through Grief, published in both English and German and in a Kindle version. Her creative nonfiction work, which explores eco-grief, appears in Salvation South and County Lines Literary Journals.
