Frida Kahlo said: “In the end, I believe we don’t need to do anything to be loved. We spend our lives trying to seem prettier, smarter. But I’ve realized two things: those who love us see us with their hearts and attribute qualities to us beyond what we really have. And those who don’t want to love us will never be satisfied with all our efforts. Our imperfections are not flaws, they are the key to recognizing those who truly love us.”
What an important perspective. A reminder to live your life for you, honoring your soul’s desire to be authentically you. Stop trying to please others, to be better, to do more. Stop requiring attention and praise and acknowledgement for every little thing. Be good with yourself. Your messy self, your tired self, your happy self, your satisfied self. Be good with all of you.
Your tribe will love you no matter. Isn’t that a relief?
