There is more going on than meets the eye. You’ve heard this before. In this short statement you admit there is a bigger picture. It is an invitation to step back and widen your view…because you can only ‘see’ so much with your eyes. What else is going on? What am I missing?

Here is another one. I can’t see the forest for the trees.  An invitation to step back and remove the blinders that prevent you from seeing the fullness of life or the complexity of the situation or the whole person. What can I see with blinders off and a little space to breathe?

Pay attention to the way you engage in life. Remember to step back and take the blinders off. Open up to more than what meets the eye. Practice getting out of the trees and out of the weeds, too. You know what it feels like to be so far in that you’ve lost all perspective. You feel whipped up and whacked out. Hey, step back…maybe even literally…take-a-step-back.

Here is why this is important:
“Most misunderstandings in the world could be avoided if people would simply take the time to ask, “What else could this mean?” Shannon L. Adler

Yes.
