We don’t have to wait for something to go wrong, for the other shoe to drop, to hit bottom or to be on our last leg in order to grow. We do not have to wait for a challenge, a surgery, a broken relationship or the death of a loved one to understand what life is really about. We can find our place in the world way before then.

Isn’t that what we really want…to find our place in the world? To feel at home, to make a difference, to know that whatever comes our way, no matter what, we’ll be alright? I think, yes.

So how do we find our place in the world now? I think it’s actually very simple. So simple that we miss it. Over and over again, we miss it. Our place in the world isn’t in the past, although some of us spend a lot of time there…think – regrets and if only I had or she had or they had. We also spend too much time in the future…think – when I have this or accomplish that.

Look around. Your place in the world is right now. You can decide in any one moment to shift, pause and take a deep breath. You might recognize that in this one moment you have what you need. It may not always look pretty and it might not always feel comfortable. But it is your place. It’s your moment. An exquisite moment…a moment of aliveness.

When you accept your place in the world as this now moment, you are practicing being present. The more you practice, the more you recognize and learn to appreciate how absolutely amazing it is to be alive, to be breathing, to have another chance in another day.

Look around. This is your place in the world right now. What do you notice? What does it tell you about yourself? How do you feel about it? Know this: you will be alright.

Much love always
