Let me just start. Acceptance is not opening the door and letting it in…it is realizing there is no door. The choice is not whether or not to let it in. The choice is what you do with it.
People we see as heroes do this. They stand in their own life. They somehow manage the twists and turns and their personal tragedies. They don’t hesitate or have to convince themselves to take it on. They just lean in.
Brave, honest, real, unashamed, persistent, curious. Willing to change course, pivot, make an adjustment, give it a minute. Knowing all of life is uncertain. Every single bit of it. No complaints or blame or rationalizing or taking on the victim role.
Acceptance is realizing there is no door. Just an opening.
