This Japanese saying caught my attention recently, “Crying is just the way your eyes speak when your mouth cannot explain how broken your heart is”. I’ll say it this way…crying is just the way your eyes speak when your mouth does not have the words to convey the tenderness in your heart.

Tears are an expression of a tender heart. Hearts become tender when we feel empathy or grief, brokenness or supreme gratitude, sadness or awe. The heart doesn’t speak in words, it speaks in emotion and feeling. It speaks in vibration. When we are overcome with emotions, the release is often through our eyes. We don’t will ourselves to cry, it happens as we release the emotional energy in our heart.

Thank God there is a release! If there was no release it seems our heart would literally break into a million pieces. It may feel that way but it doesn’t happen. The tears come and the heart continues to beat. Eventually, the tears subside, we find our center and continue on.

Don’t be afraid to cry. Let your heart release the energy and let it bring you back to center.

All is well.
