Why do we so often feel the need to fix other people. We look at their lives and see brokenness, heartache and lack and we think…well, if only they would do this or try that or make a change…then their life would be so much better. What makes us so confident? What is it that we think we know, when we really don’t. Why is our way better?

What if, instead of seeing brokenness, we saw potential? What if, instead of heartache, we saw possibility? What if, instead of lack, we saw abundance? What if we focused on their divinity and scrapped our righteous judgment?

You know, that’s what Jesus did. He never saw limitation…he saw Divine Love. He didn’t try to fix anyone…he simply loved them. He knew love made all the difference. It allowed each person to follow their own path to God.

I have been moved all week by these lyrics (below) from the song titled Many Roads by Trevor Hall. They remind me to suspend my judgment about where others are on the path we walk…the path that returns us all to the Divine Itself. If I really believe this, then it’s time for me to stop trying to fix anyone…and relax into my own path.

Listen here

There’s many roads and many paths that lead to you
Some say they’re false but I believe all of them are true
Hey, all of them are true
The green earth and the sky blue
Yeah, maybe, baby I’m a fool
A fool without you
A fool without you

Love
